6 tarts for £2.29
I have been asked to review these by 5 different people. I have now eaten one and can give you my input.
GO OUT AND BUY THESE
Okay, sorry about that.
I wasn’t too bothered about the fact that these contained sloe gin. My only memory of sloe berries is eating a berry off of the bush when I was 8 and it was possibly the most sour thing i’d ever tried. My mouth went extremely dry.
I don’t really care for gin in general but it seems to be a big deal at the moment.
I was interested to see what taste the gin would impart on these tarts, and my taste buds. My parents and sister were over when I reviewed these, so any chance of more than one pie to myself was out of the question. There is a reason there are no pictures of the pies out of the box as is the norm; we were all too happy munching away on out pastry prize to care about taking photographs.
The gin seemed to give the tarts a cherry-like taste which is a wonderful thing to experience. As with the almond tarts ALDI 6 All Butter Almond Tarts the pastry is delicious and the crunch complements the smooth mincemeat.
If you can find these in ALDI pick up a pack. Give them a try.
