£3 per box of six pies
They do look rather delicious.
Heston Blumenthal has delivered a new type of mince pies for 2018 with these. When I saw the advert them I knew I had to give them my time…..
…..Even if he does have a knack of sometimes changing the food he creates so much, that it’s almost unrecognisable.
I’m a firm believer that the first thing you must be able to taste or recognise when eating a mince pie is mincemeat!
These didn’t completely deliver on that first point. Sure, they taste wonderful, with a crumble topping similar to a rich chocolate cookie, covering a smooth cherry fruity filling. But I feel they are slightly too removed from the brief of a mince pie.
Taste (1 – 10) – 8/10 – a great tasting pie but couldn’t taste mincemeat easily.
Value for money (1 – 5) – 2/5
Total – 10/15
