Last year’s review can be found here:Marks & Spencer The Collection: 6 Mince Pies
The design of the box is smart yet simple. The gold card is understated but you get the feeling of quality. ‘The Collection’ logo is placed between the title and the picture of two pies, one cheekily bitten. There is a large window and the pies look well made, a theme that seems to run through the whole product. The pies are quite neat, but I do struggle to see the entire pastry shape under all that icing sugar!
The bottom of my pie is quite soft, almost weak under the weight of lots of mincemeat?
The pastry is short and tastes buttery. The mincemeat is tasty and slightly wet, with a good amount of fruit. Quite a shallow pie and a bit dry, but certainly one of the better tasting ones.
