“Crumbly, All butter Shortcrust pastry cases, generously deep filled with lightly spiced mincemeat laced with brandy and finished with a sweet dusting.“
Who could say no to that? And for £2.29 I was pleased with this particular pastry purchase.
This is the first box thus far with a picture of the pies’ insides and a cropped picture of what looks to be a table with some festive items you’d assume are in the mincemeat.
There’s also a window, so you can pick the box of pies that closely match the representation in the picture.
There’s a lot of icing sugar, so you will have to be careful when breathing around the opened pies!
The cardboard tab was a joy to open, one movement and it was open. it was either purposely easy or not stuck down well. I’m not complaining either way.
Can a pie be drenched with icing sugar? they looked akin to a tree covered by snow.
Let’s take a bite.
Sweet buttery pastry greats my mouth, followed by squidgy, flavourful mincemeat. Definitely the best tasting pie I’ve had so far. The mincemeat isn’t wet, but it also doesn’t have a dry claggy consistency.
