Tesco Finest 4 Luxurious Fruity Mince Pies

What a lovely neat package of pies these are.

The pastry is a beautiful golden colour, which is ‘all butter’, and each pie wishes me a Merry Christmas.

Or at least that was the intention. The lid of the pies is more bumpy than i’d expect for a pastry surface you were going to write on.

I asked myself, what makes it a luxurious fruity mince pie and found myself reading the back. This is why, they have a “rich damson flavour plum and glacé cherry mincemeat, infused with ruby port, french brandy and spices”.

I love cherries in cake, so i’m sure i’ll love them in the filling of my pies too.

It’s a solid pie, not likely to break at the slightest touch. I hope it’s not too tough though.

First bite. Ooh, the mincemeat is soft and definitely fruity.

I can taste the sweetness and individual flavours of the aforementioned fruit and the mincemeat itself is nice and syrupy. The pastry holds well throughout my bites and is not too sweet, as a necessary companion with the filling.

A very tasty pie I would happily munch again.

As of Right now, they are £1.75 instead of £3.50 by using your clubcard!
