Lost pies and festive focus.

Good evening!

I’ve had a bit of lull in posts.

You may have noticed, or, you may have just accepted that I’ve reviewed most of the pies I was going to this year and you were waiting for a summary.

Well, in truth I’ve bought lots of mince pies and lots more festive delights. I’ve bought too many, because there is an absolute plethora of items out there! I’ve been overwhelmed by the sheer choice on offer to brits who are looking for festive food!!

This isn’t everything!

When I summarise this years findings, I’ll try and account for everything I’ve tried this year, but I’ll give a brief overview of what else I’ve tried, with some thoughts.

I’ve had a Big Tasty from McDonald’s. It wasn’t festive at all, but I always find them delicious! They have ‘IT’ when it comes to fast food burgers and theyre always my favourite. It’s also a good idea that they don’t sell them all year round, because it keeps my visits down!

I’ve had a Festive Stacker(?) From KFC. It was more festive, well, as festive as fried chicken can ever be? I was impressed with the one I had, and I took it down rather sharpish!

I’ve had two work Christmas meals.

Both with Smoked Salmon starters and a beef main. Both times the beef was pull apart tender and served with a splendidly rich sauce/gravy & smooth mash.

I’ve eaten many mince pies. Some that don’t offer any new taste, or haven’t wowed me have not made it to the review stage..  and that’s not right. I need to review all from now on. But that brings me to the lull.

I’ve eaten more than 20 mince pies, and is entirely possible that I’ve eaten closer to 30. This has stopped the craving for now. I still have many unopened boxes and I will review them, just not yet.

I’ve tried a snowball, which is a drink made with advocaat, lemonade and lime. It wasn’t to my liking as it was too thick. I’m all the better for trying it, though.

I’ve had a Mince pie latte from Coffee #1. It had a wonderful taste of spices and a subtle sweetness at first, but then at the back of the throat there was an artificial taste that really wasn’t nice.

I had the pleasure of my work colleagues trying and reviewing the 6pk of Tesco Finest mince pies. Our overall score was 3.6 from the five of us.

I’m sure there are more that I’ve missed but hopefully I’ve given you a small insight into what I’ve been upto.

I should have a new post up soon. Have a great evening. Or morning, depending on when you read this.

Phil
