Free From Mince Pies

We’ve got two packs to try!

Sainsbury’s Free From

which are nearly half the price of the pies we’re comparing them to below, Lovemore.

These were found in Hilliers, formerly Rosebourne.

Important info.

Sainsbury’s: 230g, suitable for vegans and coeliacs, and are free from Gluten and Milk. The packaging looks smart and different enough from the standard packaging so that you don’t pick up the wrong thing.

Lovemore: No weight on the packaging. These are Gluten, Wheat and Milk free. Also suitable for Vegetarians. The packaging is basic, but there’s been some attempt to decorate it for the season.

More Importantly though, how do they both look & taste?

Sainsbury’s: These are very pale, but really neat and tidy looking. The pastry lid is nice and slightly sweet. the mincemeat is okay, if slightly underwhelming. If you really wanted a mincemeat fix and had to have a pack of Free From pies, you wouldn’t be too disappointed.

3 for taste.

Lovemore: These look as though no care and attention has been put into the preparation of these, other than making a product accessible for all, that is. They’re pretty ugly to look at. The lid isn’t really attached and they look incredibly messy.

The mincemeat is wet and really strange. Not good strange.

These are the worse pies i’ve tried so far. 1 for taste
